Explanation: Offensive treatment refers to repeated unpleasant or negative actions directed at individuals in a way that is degrading and may lead to exclusion from the work or study group. It occurs when a personal conflict turns into disrespect for personal integrity.

Examples include: being ignored, excluded, slandered, denied information, bullied, insulted, unjustly stripped of responsibilities, or having studies sabotaged. Harassment refers to behavior that violates someone’s dignity and is linked to one of the seven grounds of discrimination: gender, age, ethnicity, religion or belief, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, and disability.

Sexual harassment during your studies at Karlstad University

Sexual harassment refers to unwelcome and degrading behavior of a sexual nature. This can include touching, jokes, suggestions, or invitations with sexual connotations. It can also be non-verbal, such as unwelcome images, objects, or written material of a sexual nature.

As with other forms of harassment, it is the person subjected to the behavior who determines what is perceived as offensive.
